Your Professional Photographer should "never" be selected on price alone. There are so many factors that you must take into consideration. A great photographer and staff should be fun and have a very calming effect on everyone. Their work should be beautiful, a mixture of fresh and cool photojournalism, as well as contemporary traditional imagery.
- An experienced photographer knows that a wedding is centered around the Bride and Groom, but Moms, Dads and Families are important too!
- We can send a card/letter to the Groom's parents (with your permission) to let them know that we are there for them as well.
- With today's technology every family member and friend will be able to see your wedding photographs on the internet. However, our newlyweds always gets to see their photographs first. The code is sent via email to the bride and groom, and may be forwarded to all your friends and family.

Basic Price Range Information:
The Black Tie: A Wedding Package for the "Social Event of the Season". For a wedding that is a two, three or four day celebration, we offer "The Black Tie" package which is our largest and most flexible. For the once in a lifetime event, your investment begins at * $6,500 to 15,500. (As your event grows and changes - additional photographers may be needed for the event, extra days for parties, teas, golf games, etc. - your package may change to specifically meet your needs.
The "Oxford Pkg." ($4895), the "Vanderbilt Pkg." ($3895) and the
"Harvard Pkg." ($2895) are our most popular packages.

Our "Contemporary Traditional Albums" and our "Metropolitan Art Albums".
- "Contemporary Traditional Albums" are beautifully bound albums that tell your
wedding story with your beautiful images and mats. Each image is individually
retouched, and digitally corrected for best effect. We design these albums with
beautiful black & white photojournalistic prints, as well as traditional portraiture
with a bit of a contemporary twist. You will understand when you see Derrick's
work. Even the exciting prints on this website cannot equal the actual living photographs.
- "Metropolitan Art Albums" are sometimes referred to as storybook albums or collage albums. These Albums have a look of a Fine Art Coffee Table Book. There is a difference between fussy album design and fine art design, not all of these albums are created equal. The designer at D. Pierce Studio has had training in Interior Design, Fine Art Studies, and experience in Graphic Design. We offer a clean minimalist approach in our album creations that when mixed with Derrick's images cannot be equaled.

Children's (Infants) Pricing Information:
The first year in a Baby's life presents the most changes, from a tiny bundle of joy to a toddler. It truly is amazing how fast they grown. That is why it is so important to capture each stage of development. Our standard session investment is $125, however, this first year is so busy with sessions for the 3mths, 6mths, 9mths, and 12 mths we reduce the cost to only $85.00 per session.
Also, we include dual sessions for the first year, for an investment of $85.00 per session, for example: At 3 months we include a "Sweet Spots Session" at no additional charge. At 6 months we include a "Mother & Child Session" (or both parents). At 9 months we include a "Grandparents& Child Session" and at 12 months we include a "Daddy's Big Shoes" session. Of course, this depends totally on the child's stamina . . . and the parents. We schedule extra long appointments this first season to allow for diaper changes, sleepy eyes, hungry bellies, and just plan old crying. You will never feel rushed or unimportant.
We also offer "Baby Album Packages" with special pricing in which you invest in a one time fee which covers the cost of the wonderful album, and we will photograph the first year as well as their development up to 6 years. There is also a "Superior Album" which follows your child's development all the way to the teenage years.
The "Superior Album" includes sessions after age 6. These recommended sessions are: "Age 6 to 8 - these are the milestones and passion" session. These are the times to photograph the things your young child is interested in. "Age 9 to 12 is searching, finding" this is when a young person is becoming a young adult, they are usually moody and quite. "Age 13 to 15 - previews of promise" at this age their faces show the last bit of childhood lingering around their eyes, before they become the young men and women we are so proud of. Their next big photographic experience will be their High School Senior Photographs, before they leave for college. This album will mean everything to you and some day will become your child's keepsake.

First - The Investment of "Time"
We prefer to meet with all our new clients when possible. Whether in person or on the telephone we need to invest in the time to talk about your tastes, the style you wish for your finished portraits, as well as clothing choices, location decisions, etc.
You may want us to meet at your home, free of charge, to discuss ideas, print size, and framing recommendations. Or, simply spend the time getting to know one another, viewing other portraits prior to the actual session.
Our experienced staff is here to help, and remember, there is "zero" pressure. We know from experience that if you do not feel comfortable, relaxed, and committed to the session(s) you will never be totally happy with your results. Your satisfaction is always our number one goal.
Second - The Investment in "Your Session"
Yes, we require a "Session/Creation Fee". This fee covers the Photographers and the Assistant Art Directors time. It covers the use of the Studio and/or the Travel to and from the location. It covers the in-house processing costs. And, most importantly it allows us to say "you do not have to purchase any photographs after the Session", we simply hope you love your photographs so much that you can't resist.
We project your images in our studio so you can ask questions, make recommendations, and request retouching (if needed). Also, we can discuss designs and final finishes. We also, post the photographs at no additional charge to allow friends and family to view and/or place their orders. (Most Grandparents want photographs of their Grandchildren, in this way they may purchase just the prints they want.) Or, they can place them in the "favorite" photographs file(s) a new feature on our posting site.
Third - The Number of Persons in the Portrait (Session) &
the Style of Portrait Determines the Investment.
For Example:
In the Baby's Sugar Spots Style Session, Newborn to 6 Months we photograph the Child Traditionally, Color and Black&White, and all their Sugary Sweet Spots, Ears, Toes, Smiles, even the way their Hair Grows. This Investment is only $125. (However, if we are photographing the 3mth, 6mth, 9mth, and 12 mth sessions it drops to $85.00). Scroll above to find Infant pricing and suggestions.
Our Portraiture Session Investment for Family Sessions and/or Children's Sessions are as follows: One Child, one (1) hour, Session in Studio is $125.00. For a two (2) hour session, for one to two people (ages 1 to 100) the session is $145.00. For three to five people the session is $150.00.
Large Family Group Sessions - $185.00 for large family groups on location at Your Home, a Country Club, Lakeside, Parks etc. Plan at least 2 hours for these sessions.

New "Family Albums"
We are offering a Special Album that allows you to collect not only the images we create, but also the pictures you have taken (with help from our design staff) to create an album that contains all your photographic memories, and keepsakes from not only your Children's lives but from your "entire family". Please ask about this wonderful new Album. . . .
New "Pets (Animals) Series"
We offer a wonderful series of "Fine Art Pet Portraits" either by themselves or with the entire family. If you choose to have an appropriately sized "Pet Portrait" it is great fun and we can add special hand brush strokes and hand tinting. . . Yes you your pets are welcome in the studio. They are a part of your family and we love them too!
(P.S. - Larger pets, such as horses, will require an on location session.)
Graduate (High School Seniors) Pricing
Why do we need to go to "another" Senior Photographer?
We at D. Pierce Studio do not wish to photograph every senior in a given high school. We only want to work with those Graduates who want something totally different. So ask yourself, do you want real backgrounds instead of plastic props? Do you want time to change your hair and makeup as well as your clothing? Do you want to add your personal things in the photographs? Lastly, do you want the session to be totally about you and not about the five other Seniors waiting in line?
You decide what you are interested in and we design the session for you. . . just for you!
We asked a H.S. Senior friend Alicia about her experience with the High School Photographers, here's what she had to say. . .
"The school photographer was really nice. . . But he put me in with three other girls, and moved us in and out so fast it wasn't fun. . . I had to put on this dirty drape thing that grossed me out, I didn't get to spend any time on my hair. There were only two or three that I even liked. . ."
D. Pierce Studio Graduate Sessions are not set up to replace your Senior School Photographer. We are an exclusive Studio set up to photograph the young adults last and "most important" photography event. We design our sessions specifically for you - on-location, doing what makes you happy; sports, reading, music, dancing, bikes, boarding, cars, etc.
And, as a "Free Gift" for our seniors and their parents, we add a "Last Hoorah! Family Session" (Dad brings the rest of the family!) We photograph siblings, and the rest of the family with the Senior knowing that soon she/he will be off to College and on their own. Once the family session is over Dad takes everyone home and the rest of the session is devoted to you, so have fun and look great.
Graduate/Senior Session Information:
Premium Event Sessions:
The Premium Session includes unlimited photographs taken. Up to three hours of studio time and one hour on location. (Indoor, outdoor, and black&white "around town") Up to five (5) different outfits as you wish. You may bring in a hair and makeup person for the time, but remember they will use part of your session time. This is the ultimate! We can do formals, photojournalistic, dance/sports, at home in your room, with your first car. It is great fun. . .
Don't forget the "Free" Family session listed above.
The "Premium Session" is only **$150.00
**January through April receive a 15% discount.
The "Senior's Choice" Session:
The Seniors Choice Session includes at least 32 images to choose from. Indoor Studio and Outside Poses (one location outside). Up to Four (4) Outfits (if traveling into the country you must be able to change in your car.) Session time is up to 2 hours (allow time if there is an extra person). Bring your own music and friends for fun. If you bring one other friend and we can photograph both girls (guys) at the same time you can split the session fee (two people only). The session is only **$125.00
**January through April receive a 15% discount.
The "Classic Graduate Session":
The Classic session includes 15 to 20 best of the best images. This is indoor studio poses only. Two outfits of your choice. The session time is up to (1) one hour. Bring any personal things you want photographed to the session. The session is only **$85.00

Look over the photo sessions listed above, you can customize any of these packages to better fit your needs. Simply call 615.776.4099 (or email) and tell us what you are looking for. Also, once you have picked/created the session that you desire call to reserve the Studio's time. (Most clients need 4 to 5 outfit changes.) Have your credit card ready to make your appointment reservation. This is necessary to receive your discounts and/or scheduling bonuses. A retainer of $50 will hold your appointment and that will be applied to your session. This retainer is non refundable for no shows, so please call if you need to reschedule within 24 hours prior to the appointment. Remember all of D.Pierce Studio's work is satisfaction guaranteed.

- Commercial Product Sessions: We work with (or without) Art Directors - with a goal toward how the finished images are going to be used. We have photographed from tiny antique paintings (for the Traveler's Rest Museum) to huge rolls of steel and plasma cutters (for the Tennessee Sheet Metal Company). Having an eye for the art in any product and an advanced knowledge of lighting, is the key to beautiful results.
The following is a list of Possible Finishes for Any of Your Portraits. We can make recommendations and show you samples of these finishes. The Finishing of a Portrait and the Framing are all a part of the Design Process:
"Oil Over Portraits" finishing is placing an image on real artist canvas. The canvas is then stretched onto a frame. Then our artists use high quality oils to hand paint the entire canvas using the original photograph as an outline. The artist is trained in oil paintings and portraiture. Colors are mixed and applied just as the old masters techniques. This is the nearest method to "sitting" for an oil painting. These works of art are of the highest quality and will last like any other oil painted family heirloom. This is an investment in beauty and in your family.
"Watercolor Portraits" look best when colors are light/pastel. Watercolors are also great for Children's portraits. We offer two different styles, "True Watercolor" which is a photograph turned into a Black & White print and desaturated until it is a simple line drawing. Then an watercolor artist hand paints with true watercolors to create the image. The other style is a watercolor created in computer design. Both styles are beautiful and printed on true watercolor paper. We offer this with hand torn edges and mounted three dimensionally.
"Metallic Paper Portraits" are a new way to print photographs on special metallic photographic paper. This is a very cool way to give a photograph a modern edge, and is great for contemporary subject matter and portraits. It's a must see. . .
"Hand Tinting Portraits" there are many ways to create exciting portraits. We offer hand tinting in two different ways. First hand tinting with digital photography. There are many fun new styles of hand tinting with digital, a) hand tinting the entire print or "antiquing" b) hand tinting a portion of the print to replicate the old style of hand tinting, or c) sepia hand tinting. These are all done by computer design.
Or, we offer to photograph with film in the old style and hand print on fiber based paper to create your hand tinted portrait. This is an investment but well worth the price.
"Oil Painted Portraits Digitally" using the computer you can actually create the loose edges of a true oil painting inside the photograph. It sounds a little high tech but the results must be seen to be believed. With the addition of a hand painted texture coating it is beautiful.
"Hand Texture Portraits" this is just what it sounds like. A thick coating is applied by paintbrush to the outside of a canvas portrait. This added texture is a very elegant finish for portraits. Once framed it has the similar appearance of hand painted oil portraits.
